How to Relax, Rejuvenate and Recharge in under 15 minutes

We girls juggle multiple roles and it can be really hard to find time for ourselves in our daily lives. But as we always preach at Glossy Up, “You cannot pour from an empty vessel” and it is important to constantly take time out to relax and recharge. You wouldn’t go without charging your phone for a day would you? So why would you do that to yourself?

Meditate

A study in the Journal of Positive Psychology found that just 15 minutes of meditation a day can be enough to produce results.

We live in challenging times and the age old practice of meditation can help beat anxiety so many of us are currently experiencing. The study goes as far as to state that meditation replicate the the relaxing effect on the mind and bring that “vacation mode” to a regular work day.

No formal courses are also needed for your to reap the benefit. With meditation apps like Calm and Headspace, anyone can easily access guided meditations. With anxiety climbing and most of us grounded, we think this is a clear win.

Go For A Walk

It may sound mundane and uninspiring but this is far from the truth. Going for a walk outdoors can lift your mood and boost creativity if you suddenly find yourself in a creative rut.

Not to forget to mention that even a small amount of light exercise will keep you healthier and that studies show how life expectancy is prolonged by just taking short walks. The best part? It’s free.
